About Canoga

Welcome to Canoga Park High School and thank you for visiting our website!

I am proud to serve as the new principal at this historic, community school. I welcome the opportunity to collaboratively build a school that prepares students for success in college and career. One of my core beliefs is that students will learn at a high level when they are surrounded by adults who are also learning at a high level, and as the “learning leader” I will model this for all. I am always in the “hunt” for new knowledge.

The 2015-2016 school year will mark our 101st year! We are dedicated to ensuring that current students will be able to make their own history, both at Canoga Park High School and beyond. With a student body of 1600 students, we offer a smaller, more personalized educational experience to our students, and we pride ourselves on building meaningful relationships with students and families.

I embrace the school’s motto - “Be Strong” - in the classroom, in the community, and in life.

Our clean, safe campus has many architectural gems and also features one of Southern California’s only Redwood groves. The Auditorium (Assembly Hall) is a treasure and, in my opinion, the finest one in the district. We are truly an oasis in the Valley.

To support our academic mission, construction continues all over campus. The 500 building is being converted into a state of the art Graphic Arts & Printing Facility, and a comprehensive Multi-media Production Studio. The College & Career Center will now be in room 211. We are especially excited because this year every student will be issued a laptop for school use as part of the Common Core Technology Project.

I especially want to welcome the class of 2019, as they are now a part of the Canoga Park High School family. Over 150 incoming 9th grade students attended Summer Bridge to familiarize themselves with the demands and expectations of a college prep curriculum.  Fifty of those students will attend a two week Science and Math Program at Cal State Northridge sponsored by Project GRAD Los Angeles. We hope to expand this program for the class of 2020.

I hope to meet you during one of our school tours.
