CANOGA PARK HIGH SCHOOL VETERINARY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE MAGNET MAGNET PROGRAM DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW Canoga Park Veterinary and Environmental Science Magnet is located in the West San Fernando Valley and in the Northwestern end of the Los Angeles Unified School District boundaries. The Magnet program was established in 1996 and currently has 180 students enrolled out of a maximum of 200. Our students enjoy a comprehensive 9th through 12th grade program catering to students interested in an environmental and/or veterinary related science major and career. It offers a challenging educational setting combining an inclusive high school education and a hands-on program with unique on-site features; 1.5 acre learning laboratory holding several livestock animals, productive organic gardening area, landscaping plots, and plant identification area. Our program seeks to assist in achievement its under-represented minority students while undertaking a rigorous academic schedule.
