1914 or 1915?
Canoga Park High School first opened as Owensmouth High School in October 1914. It was a part of the newly formed Owensmouth Union High School District. By July 1915, however, the Los Angeles City Board of Education annexed the High School and its feeder grammar schools. Canoga Park High School did open in 1914, but it did not become a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District until the following year. For this reason, the signs say 1915. (Utopian, 1916) |
