The ROP (Regional Occupational Program) program is designed to allow students to earn credits toward graduation while taking classes or working at a jobsite away from Canoga High. The most popular ROP class at Canoga High is the Retail Sales Clerk class, which places students at businesses in Topanga Plaza and Fallbrook Mall. Students work at the businesses as regular employees while earning anywhere from 10 to 15 credits.
Another means of earning ROP credits is to attend classes at West Valley Occupational center in Woodland Hills. Many CPHS students go to WVOC on Saturdays or weekday evenings and can earn from 5 to 10 credits towards graduation in these classes. The most popular classes at WVOC are Auto Body, computer Literacy, and Typing. A complete list of classes can be picked up in the Career Center from Mr. Nogy. |
