INTRODUCING MR. EDELMAN!!
We would like to introduce one of our long time Chemistry teachers, Mr. Edelman!!! Mr Edelman has been teaching at Canoga since the 1980s!
Where did Mr. Edelman grow up?
Mr. Edelman grew up in West Los Angeles.
What high school did he attend?
He attended Sierra High School near Fresno.
What activities was Mr. Edelman involved in when he was in high school?
Mr. Edelman was involved in baseball, basketball, horseback riding, photography, FFA, and he also played the guitar. “I was all over the place,” says Mr. Edelman.
How does Mr. Edelman like working at Canoga?
Mr. Edelman says, “It’s a good place to work...Everybody is good.”
What advice does Mr. Edelman have for students here at Canoga?
“Work hard and get ready for College; without college, you’re not going to do much in the world."
What other jobs has he had?
Mr. Edelman has worked at Canoga Park High School since College.
What does Mr. Edelman do in his spare time?
Mr. Edelman spends his time travelling, playing his guitar, playing the stock market, taking pictures, cooking, gardening, watching sports, and also runs a couple of businesses. He buys and sells antique stuff.
What kind of music does he like?
Mr. Edelman listens to Rock, Jazz, and Classic music, for example Elbow, Cake, and the Killers.
What is something we don’t know about Mr. Edelman, that he would like us to know?
He almost went to cooking school.
Where did Mr. Edelman go to college?
Mr. Edelman went to Sonoma State University for his Bachelor’s degree and went to Washington University for his Masters.
What was his major in college?
He majored in Chemistry.
Why did Mr. Edelman become a teacher?
“I enjoy teaching” says Mr. Edelman.
Why did Mr. Edelman choose the subject he teaches?
He says that “It shows me, we got along; we had a chemistry”.
