INTRODUCING MS. GIACONA!!!

We would like to introduce Ms. Carole Giacona. Ms. Giacona is one of our English teachers here at Canoga, where she is also a member of the Environmental and Veterinary Magnet!

 
Where did Ms. Giacona grow up?
She was born in New York and has lived all over the United States. She moved a lot because her dad was in the Air Force.
 
What high school did she go to?
She attended Barstow High School in California. 
 
What activities was she involved in when she was in high school?
Ms. Giacona participated in F.F.A
 
Does Ms. Giacona like working at Canoga?
She loves working at Canoga.
 
What advice does she have for students at Canoga?
“Study hard and graduate!  There’s a big future out there for each and every one of you”
 
Has Ms. Giacona ever taught at a different school?
She worked at Toll Middle School in Glendale for 2 years.
 
What other jobs has she had?
Ms. Giacona has worked in theatre, TV, and film.
 
What does she do in her spare time?
In her spare time, she sews; one of the things she has sewn is a renaissance dress. She tries to watch movies, and she also likes to read!  One of the books she has read is The Great Gatsby.
 
What kind of music does she listen to?
Ms. Giacona listens to everything, especially Jazz and the Blues. Her favorite band is the Barenaked Ladies.
 
What is something that we might not know about Ms. Giacona?
She didn’t want to be an English teacher. She changed her mind when she had kids and discovered that she likes it. She has 2 daughters, one is 23 and the other is 30.
 
Where did she go to college?
Ms. Giacona attended UCLA and CSUN
 
What was her major in college?
She majored in Theatre and English.
 
Why did she become a teacher?
Ms. Giacona became a teacher because everyone she knew told her that she should.
 
Why did she choose the subject she teaches?
She chose to be an English teacher because it seemed to match what she likes; it went along with theatre and stories.
