9th Math Tutorial Lab (Period 8)
Location: Room 18 Teacher: Math tutorial lab (MTL) is an elective mathematics course provided to students as a second course to support the core class of Algebra 1AB. The course is designed to enhance the student’s knowledge of prerequisite and core skills that are essential for success in Algebra 1AB. MTL should not be thought of as an additional math course, but an extension of their core class. Most class time will center on what they are doing in their Algebra class by focusing on the pre-skills, re-teaching of the last lesson in a different way, and front-loading the next day’s lesson. The only other component of the course will be a review of California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) strands to prepare students to achieve proficient to advanced levels of performance. All students must pass the CAHSEE math in order to receive a high school diploma. |
